Tracy Shoots 69 to Spark Terps at Bridgestone Golf

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sophomore Brendan Tracy shot a 3-under-par 69 to post the best round of the day by a University of Maryland player Monday in the first two rounds of the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate Championship being played at the Forest Oaks Country Club.
Tracy's low round put him in a tie for 39th individually after 36 holes with a 149 total. Freshman Donnie Shin led the Terrapins after 36 holes with rounds of 75 and 73 putting him in a tie for 29th with a 148 total.
Also for Maryland, Andrew Kay tied for 62nd at 154 after opening with a 75, while Tom Hanna III and Chris Gold were in a tie for 70th at 156.
As a team, Maryland was in 15th place after Monday's action, despite shooting a 296 in the second round. Maryland was three shots behind Toledo heading into Tuesday's final round, which will be delayed by an hour due to a frost warning in the area.
North Carolina led the team standings at 580 after the first two rounds, with Kent State and Louisville tied for second at 581. The Cardinals shot a 281 as a team in Monday's second round to make up five shots on the Tar Heels.
Eight teams in the field are ranked in the top 50 in the nation.
Individually, Derek Fathauer of Louisville led after 36 holes by posting a 6-under-par total of 138. He used a 67 in the second round to climb atop the leaderboard. He held a two-shot lead over Brett Cairns of Kent State and Josh Sandman of Notre Dame.
