KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Seniors Katie Trotter and Kelly Calkin each fired 2-over-par rounds of 74 on Tuesday, helping the University of Maryland to a fourth-place team finish at the Edwin Watts / Palmetto Intercollegiate women's golf tournament, played at the Oak Point Golf Club.

Trotter finished with a season-best total of 225 over the 54-hole event, tying for seventh place individually. It was her third straight top-10 finish. She finished the Fall 2007 season with three top-10s in five events, tying for fifth at Penn State in early October and placing second individually two weeks ago in Richmond.

Calkin's 74 moved her up 17 spots on the leader board to a tie for 21st at 231. Also for Maryland, Lara Peffley placed 31st overall at 233, matching her season-best total for 54 holes. Hilary Lawson tied for 47th at 238, with Kerri Connolly tying for 65th at 244.

As a team, Maryland shot 306 on Tuesday, moving from a tie for sixth late in Monday's suspended second round, into fourth place at 927. The Terrapins finished one stroke ahead of 39th-ranked Georgia State, 28th-ranked Iowa State and 42nd-ranked Indiana.

East Carolina finished off the win in the team standings by shooting 303 on Tuesday to post a 906 total. Nebraska rallied with a 294 team score on Tuesday, but fell three shots behind the Pirates. Kansas State was in third at 925.

Individually, J.C. Stevenson of Nebraska shot her second straight round of 2-under-par 70 to finish at even-par 216. Michelle Regan of Kansas State fell one shot back, with Amber Littman of East Carolina in third at 220.

The Palmetto Intercollegiate finished the Fall 2007 season for the Terrapins.
