GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Maryland's football game against the University of Virginia, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20 in College Park, Md., will kick off at either 3:30 p.m. and air on ABC, or begin at 8 p.m. and be shown on ESPN2, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday.
ESPN/ABC chose to execute a six-day window to decide on the kickoff time. The game time will be released Sunday.
The Terps (4-2, 1-1 ACC), who received votes Sunday in both the AP and USA Today polls, are off this week, while the Cavaliers (5-1, 3-0) go out of conference Saturday to face Connecticut.
Maryland and Virginia played a thriller last season. The Terps edged the Cavaliers 28-26 in Charlottesville, Va., after overcoming a 20-0 halftime deficit.
Maryland's first five games of the season were on the ESPN/ABC family of outlets, while last week's Georgia Tech contest was shown on Raycom/Lincoln Financial Sports.
Other Maryland game times will be announced at a later date. After the first three weeks of the season, ACC home games are selected on a 12-day option by ESPN/ABC or Lincoln Financial Sports/Raycom. Four times during the season, ESPN/ABC can choose certain ACC games on a six-day window.
