TERPS LOOKING FOR SEVENTH ACC TITLE
• Second-ranked and second-seeded Maryland travels to Boston, Mass., this weekend to battle for the program's seventh ACC title and second since 2005. After earning the No. 2 seed, the Terrapins garnered a coveted first-round bye and will take on the winner of the Virginia-Boston College first-round game on Friday, Nov. 2 in the semifinals.
• The Terps took home the tournament crown in 1992, 1998-2001, and 2005, and have appeared in 18 ACC title games.
• The winners of both semifinals games move on to the championship game slated for Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.

O'DONNELL SELECTED ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
• Freshman forward Katie O'Donnell was voted the ACC's Offensive Player of the Year, making her the first Terp to receive the award in its four-year history. She is the first freshman in ACC history to win any conference player of the year honor.
• O'Donnell started all of Maryland's 18 games, scoring 17 and assisting 15 for 49 points. She recorded a point in 15 of the Terps' 18 games, including at least one in each of the first 10 contests.
• On Oct. 9, O'Donnell became the first Terp in program history to sweep the national honors, named National Player and Rookie of the Week by www.womensfieldhockey.com. That date also marked the third time she was selected ACC Player of the Week, the only player in the conference to earn the weekly recognition multiple times.
• She leads the ACC with 49 points, and her 2.72 ppg are tops in the nation. Her 17 goals are best in the ACC, and her 0.94 gpg ranked first in the ACC and second in the NCAA.

FOUR TERRAPINS NAMED ALL-ACC
• Senior goalkeeper Kathryn Masson and junior back Susie Rowe earned All-ACC honors for the second-straight year. Joining them are first-time All-ACC honorees senior Janneke van Leeuwen and freshman Katie O'Donnell.
• Rowe and Masson have teamed up to post the third-best defense in the nation, boasting a 0.88 team goals against average with eight shutouts.
• Leading the Terps' offense are honorees O'Donnell and van Leeuwen. O'Donnell was the only player in the conference to earn All-ACC Player of the Week nods multiple times, on Sept. 4, Sept. 25, and Oct. 9. Van Leeuwen also received the weekly honor on Oct. 16 for the first time in her career. Van Leeuwen boasts a team second-best 13 goals and 10 assists for 36 points. Her 2.0 ppg are ninth in the nation.

ABOUT THE ACC TOURNAMENT
• For the third straight year, six teams are competing for the ACC Tournament crown after Boston College, this year's host, joined the league in 2005. The tournament is being held at the Eagles' Newton Campus Sports Complex on Nov. 1, 2 and 4.
• The two top teams in the tournament earned a first-round bye. The first-round games will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 with game times slated for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The semifinal round will be played on Friday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. After a break on Saturday, the tournament continues on Sunday, Nov. 4, with the champion being decided at 1 p.m.
• The first four games of the tournament can be viewed on www.ACCSelect.com with purchase of a daily or monthly subscription. The title game airs on the ACC's Regional Sports Network (Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports Net South, Fox Sports Net Florida, and New England Sports Network).
• North Carolina is the top seed in the tournament, after clinching the ACC regular-season title with a 5-0 record. Maryland earned the No. 2 seed with a 4-1 record in the conference. Both the Terps and UNC receive a bye to the semifinals.
• Wake Forest (3-2) is seeded third and will take on sixth-seeded Duke (1-4) in the first round. Boston College (1-4) and Virginia (1-4) are seeded fourth and fifth, respectively.

TERPS IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
• The Terrapins are 26-18 all-time in the ACC Tournament, reaching the semifinal round every year. Their only first-round appearance was in 2003. The Terps have advanced to the title game 18 times, the most of any team. They have also won the conference crown six times, including claiming the title in 2005.

ACC TITLE GAME = MAGIC 8 BALL?
• Boasting six teams among the national top 20, the ACC has long been considered one of the top field hockey conferences in the nation. With all six teams competing for the conference crown, being successful in the ACC Tournament requires NCAA Tournament-level play in order to capture a league title. With that said, the ACC title game could be a preview of the NCAA Tournament semifinal and final rounds.
• In the 24-year history of the ACC Tournament, an ACC tournament finalist has reached the NCAA semifinals 27 times. Twenty of those teams advanced to the title game and 11 times the NCAA Tournament champion was an ACC Tournament finalist. Of the 24 teams crowned ACC Champion, eight also captured the NCAA Tournament title that same year, including the 2005 Maryland Terrapins.

HOME SWEET HOME
• The Terps ended the regular-season home slate with a perfect 10-0 mark, the second time in the history of the program the team swept its home record. It is also the third unbeaten home season all time.
• Maryland was 9-0 on its home field in 1987 and in 1992, it went 7-0-1 to claim an unbeaten home season.
• It is the first time since the Terps moved to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in 2003 they have won every home game.

COMING UP
• The winners of the semifinal round move on to play for the ACC Tournament title on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m.
• After the ACC Tournament, the NCAA will announce the NCAA Tournament teams, seedings, and sites on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The ACC Tournament champion receives qualification to the NCAA Tournament.
