Postgame Notes

Egekeze in the clutch: Before pushing a 46-yard attempt wide left in the fourth quarter, Obi Egekeze had connected on eight consecutive field goals. The junior had not missed since ging 2 for 5 in the Rutgers game on September 29. He has not missed an extra point attempt all season. The junior hit a career-long kick of 46 yards in the first quarter against the Seminoles, and then hit a 29-yarder in the second quarter. Isaiah Goes Long: Isaiah Williams set a career-high with 73 receiving yards on three catches. His 66 yard reception in the third quarter was also a career long, and set up Maryland's first touchdown of the day.

Lattimore moves up: With 46 yards on the ground against Keon Lattimore increased his career total to 1694, moving him past Art Seymore (1970-72) into 14th on the all-time list.

Lance Ball ran for 35 yards, and currently ranks sixth on the Terrapin career list with 2,404 yards. He needs 14 yards to pass Rick Badanjek (1982-85) and 21 yards to pass Bruce Perry (1999, 2001-03) and move into fourth place.

Philistin leads the way: Middle linebacker Dave Philistin has stepped up with seven consecutive games with double-digit tackles, including 10 against Florida State. He posted 21 tackles in the win over Georgia Tech, the most by a Maryland player since 1998.

Moore racks up the sacks: Defensive tackle Dre Moore netted his sixth sack of the year against Florida State. His six sacks mark the most a Terrapin has recorded in a season since Shawne Merriman had 8.5 in 2004. Moore also had seven tackles against the Noles. Last week in the upset of Boston College he had five tackles, a sack, and his first career interception.

Starting streaks continue: Several Terps extended starting streaks in the game. Safety Christian Varner has started a team-high 33 straight games and 34 of the past 35 games. Linebacker Trey Covington has started 32 of the past 33 games. Varner, along with guard Andrew Crummey have started a team-high 34 games overall, but the latter has been out of the lineup since suffering a broken leg in the win over Georgia Tech. Crummey may return for the regular season finale against NC State next week.
