
Beth Gillming Selected to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland senior outside hitter Beth Gillming (Cincinnati, Ohio) was selected as an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-District performer in the District 2 University Division, it was announced on Thursday.
An elementary education major, Gillming is currently carrying a 3.72 GPA, Gillming is no stranger to academic achievement. Throughout her Maryland career, the Cincinnati native has won the Col. Thomas M. Field Award presented by the Terrapin Club, the President's Cup Award and has been on the Atlantic Coast Conference's honor roll three years running, just to name a few of her achievements.
Gillming currently leads the Terrapins in kills (312) and digs (356) this season, is second all-time in Maryland history in digs. Barring injury, Gillming will set a new Maryland volleyball record in games played, as well.
With her first-team all-district selection, Gillming will automatically be nominated for academic all-american status.
All-district selections are nominated and voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
