COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior Stephen King was named to the College Soccer News All-America First Team and was also voted to the NSCAA/adidas All-South Atlantic team along with sophomore Omar Gonzalez. This is the second-straight season that a Maryland student-athlete has been named to the College Soccer News first team.

King finished his career second all-time in assists at Maryland with 33 and his 93 points ranks sixth. He also scored 30 goals which is one away from the top 10. His three-assist performance against No. 14 Virginia on November 3 tied the program record for assists in a game. He racked up 13 assists in 2007 which is the second most in school history in a single season.

King, a native of Medford, N.J., was a work horse for the Terrapins since his arrival in College Park in 2004, earning a start in every contest Maryland played in his four seasons. He started 93 games in his career which is a Terps record.

This is the second selection to the all-region second team for King. He is a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy for the second-straight year and also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. King has been equally impressive in the classroom as he is a two-time Academic All-American.

Gonzalez, a first team all-region selection, has started 43 games in his career including all 21 this past season, one of four Terps to do so. He anchored a back line that allowed just 20 goals and had six shutouts. Gonzalez was a vital part of Maryland's set pieces and overall attack as he notched an assist in the Terps' win against NC State.

Gonzalez was one of the most highly touted freshmen in the country in 2006 as he was named to the All-ACC Freshmen Team and the Soccer America All-Freshmen Second Team. Over the summer, he represented the United States playing for the Pan American team as a forward.
