COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland's Beth Gillming, a junior education major, has been selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Volleyball Team for the second consecutive season.
A team captain this past season, Gillming ranked second on the team in 2006 in both kills (246) and digs (355) as an outside hitter.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
On October 27th of last year, Gillming became only the sixth Terrapin to reach the 1,000 career dig mark during a three game sweep of Miami. She is currently fifth on Maryland's all-time list in digs with 1137.
In a five-game win over Georgia Tech on October 6, she totaled 15 kills and 12 digs to help key the Terp's victory.
For her career, she has 548 kills, 130 blocks and 95 service aces.
