Anna Gossett Named CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week

University of Maryland women's water polo goalie Anna Gossett was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Southern Division Player of the Week for February 19-25. The junior from Collegeville, Md., receives the honor after a strong showing at last weekend's Bucknell Invitational.
On Day 2 of the Invitational, Gossett recorded 17 saves while allowing only four goals scored in 64 minutes of play in Terrapin wins over Iona and Villanova. She played a complete game in the cage against the Gaels, blocking eight while allowing two to lead the Terps to their fourth straight win of the tournament.
Gossett had also staved off a Wagner fourth-quarter comeback effort on Day 1, blocking three in the final minutes.
