The two-time NCAA Champion Maryland field hockey team recently took home first place at the Big Apple Indoor Tournament in New York City. The Terps won 3-2 over Team Kool in the championship game, while sophomore Susie Rowe was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.
The Terps win the prestigious indoor tournament for the second-consecutive year. Last year, senior Paula Infante (Santiago, Chile) was named MVP. Susie Rowe (London, England) helped the Terps capture their second-straight title this fall, earning All-American and All-ACC honors.
Newcomer Kristina Foster (Tabernacle, N.J.) was selected Dita's Most Outstanding Junior at the tournament. Maryland was first out of 12 teams.
The Terps' spring schedule is nearing its completion. They host Delaware and Penn State on Saturday, April 7, with the action beginning at 9:30 a.m. Maryland will also host Princeton, James Madison and Vermont on Saturday, April 14, with games beginninga t 10 a.m.
