CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Kelly Calkin fired an even-par round of 72 on Saturday to move up the leaderboard at the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship being played at the Carmel Country Club.
Calkin, a Terrapin junior, jumped from a tie for 23rd all the way to 10th with her round, the best ever posted by a Maryland player at the 6,293-yard Carmel course in five rounds of the ACC Championship. Carmel CC also hosted the ACC Championship in 2005.
Calkin had three birdies on the front nine en route to a 1-under 35, and finished with four birdies on her card. Her 72 had Calkin at 149 over 36 holes and in 10th place in the individual standings to lead Maryland players.
As a team, Maryland fired a 308 on Saturday and its 620 total put the Terrapins in seventh place. Maryland will open Sunday's final round just one stroke behind NC State.

The second-ranked Blue Devils, who have won 11 straight ACC women's golf championships, have a 571 total, well ahead of Florida State at 592 and Wake Forest at 593. Duke players are second, third and tied for fourth in the individual standings.
