STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - Kelly Calkin fired a 1-under-par round of 71 Tuesday to tie for second place individually and lead the University of Maryland to the team title at the John Kirk / Lady Panther Intercollegiate women's golf tournament hosted by Georgia State University.

Maryland, which shot a season-best 283 in Monday's first round, fired a 302 team score on Tuesday for a 585 total over the 36-hole event. The Terrapins won by five strokes over Louisville and by 11 shots over Birmingham Southern.

It was the Terrapins' second team victory in the last three tournaments, as they won the USF / Waterlefe Invitational on March 19 and 20.

Calkin earned her sixth top-10 finish of the season by tying for second with a 141 total. She finished one stroke behind Stacey Tate of Memphis, who followed her 68 Monday with a 72 on Tuesday.

Also for Maryland, Kate Stepanek tied for seventh at 145 after shooting a 75 on Tuesday. Jessica Reno tied for 14th at 149, while Kelly MacWhinnie gave the Terrapins a fourth player in the top-20 individually with a tie for 20th at 151. Katie Trotter shot a 78 on Tuesday to tie for 52nd at 157.

Stepanek's tie for seventh was her best individual finish of the season thus far and was her sixth top-20 finish of the year.

Maryland will take next week off before playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships on April 13 to 15 in Charlotte, N.C.
