COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland golf course will host the Johnny Holliday Scholarship Classic Monday, May 7. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Youth Leadership Foundation. A few open spots remain for golfers wishing to participate.
Funds raised from the event will provide scholarships to the most disadvantaged students wishing to attend YLF's academic and character building programs, and create a special fund to provide tuition assistance for students wishing to attend the University of Maryland.
The event will feature contests, prizes and gifts for all participants. The University of Maryland Golf Course, an oasis within the Washington D.C. Capital Beltway, is an 18-hole, championship golf course with mature trees lining each fairway. The Clubhouse was built in 1999 and is host to a full service golf shop, Mulligan's Bar and Grill, locker rooms and banquet facilities. Nestled along the north side of the University of Maryland, College Park, the golf course is easily accessible for guests from around the metropolitan area.
