POSITION TITLE: Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Varsity Sports

UNIVERSITY: The
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Associate AD for Varsity Sports reports to the Director of Athletics through the Chief of Staff and is a member of the Athletic Department's senior management team. This individual is responsible for responsible for directing, monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating sports programs and support units in a highly competitive, intercollegiate Division I-A sports environment in one of the premier sports conferences in the country, the Atlantic Coast Conference. This individual will serve as sport supervisor for several highly-competitive varsity sports, including responsibility for daily operations and oversight of operational expenses, practice and competition schedules, recruiting national caliber student-athletes, monitoring academic performance, managing and resolving personnel issues, conducting student-athlete exit interviews, ensuring rules compliance, and monitoring/meeting gender equity objectives. In addition, incumbent will supervise various department support units and be responsible for developing and reviewing athletic department contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Must have at least 5 years of successful administrative experience in a collegiate athletic program, business, or other athletic related organization. Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills required. Computer skills in Word and Excel are strongly recommended. Must be a self-starter with an excellent work ethic and appreciation for the value of a Division I-A athletic program to the University community. Secretarial support provided.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
