
Maryland Gymnastics Places 21st in NACGC/W Academic Standings

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) announced the final academic team and individual rankings for the 2006-2007 academic year for the nation's collegiate women's gymnastics teams. Rankings are calculated by determining a weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale that creates a relevant measure for comparison among all the universities in the US.
The University of Maryland finished 21st out of 69 teams named with a team grade-point-average (GPA) of 3.3537.
Southeast Missouri State was named the champion with a team GPA of 3.74. The University of Denver was second with a team GPA of 3.763 followed by Southern Utah State at 3.733.
With the GPA of 3.3537, the Terps also won the President's Cup last season.
