COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland women's water polo team will face George Washington Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Smith Center in Washington, D.C., in the first CWPA Southern Division game of the season.
The Terrapins (11-6) have won their last four matchups with the Colonials (4-8) and are looking to continue that streak.
Maryland posted a 4-2 record in conference play in 2007, while George Washington hopes to improve from a winless conference record last season.
The Terps are having a strong start to their season, sweeping through the Terrapin Invitational and playing some very tight matchups against the best teams in the East.
Maryland has been led by the strong play of its juniors, with three averaging a goal per game or better and goalie Ashleigh Jobson averaging nearly eight blocks per game. Allison Beck looks to continue her strong play, as the freshman has scored a team-high nine goals over the past four games.
