COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's water polo team closed out the Elite Six Tournament with a win Sunday over Brown, 12-7.

Led by three goals from freshman Allison Beck, the Terrapins (11-6) surged in the middle of the game, going on a 9-2 run after a tough start. Beck scored seven goals between two games Sunday and nine on the weekend, including the final goal in regulation against No. 15 Hartwick (6-7) earlier Sunday.

This was the Terps' first win of the weekend after suffering their second straight one-goal loss Sunday morning to No. 15 Hartwick, 17-16, in overtime.

Ashleigh Jobson's spectacular goaltending over the weekend helped keep the Terps close in every match and helped to hold off Brown's offensive attack. The Terps were also helped by a pair of goals each from junior captain Blaise Stanicic and sophomore Shannon Simerly.

Maryland dropped both its games Saturday, losing, 9-4, to No. 12 Michigan (11-9) and, 10-9, to No. 20 Indiana.

In other action Sunday, Indiana (9-7) won both its matches, completing a perfect weekend for the Hoosiers. Also perfect on the weekend was Michigan, which topped Brown and Princeton Sunday.

Hartwick was the only other team with multiple wins on the weekend, and Maryland and Princeton each finished with one win.

The Terps next travel to George Washington March 12, in their first conference game of the season.
