WALLACE, N.C. - Kerri Connolly led University of Maryland players with a tie for 35th individually as the Terrapins posted a 15th-place finish in the team standings Tuesday at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational women's golf tournament.

Connolly, a freshman from Duxbury, Mass., posted her lowest 54-hole score of the spring season with a 231. She led the Terrapins on the scoreboard for the third time this season after shooting rounds of 77-75-79.

Senior Katie Trotter tied for 41st with a 233 total that included a 75 in the second round, which was completed early Tuesday morning due to darkness. Senior Kelly Calkin had the low score of the final round and the Terrapins' best 18 holes of the event with a 74 in Tuesday's final round. She tied for 61st at 236. Hilary Lawson and Carla Wasienko each finished with 244 totals and tied for 80th individually.

As a team, Maryland finished with a 942 total with its 309 in the final round being the best of the three.

NC State won the team competition with an 896 total, posting a 291 as a team in the final round. The Wolfpack won by one stroke over UNC Greensboro and by four shots over the host Seahawks.

Carmen Perez-Narbon of UNC Wilmington won a playoff for medalist honors with Erica Creed of UNC Greensboro. Those two players topped the individual leader board at 217.

Maryland plays next in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, to be held April 18 to 20 at the LPGA International course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
