POSITION VACANCY

POSITION TITLE: CHAMPS/Life Skills Intern

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics (Academic Support & Career Development - ASCDU)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The CHAMPS/Life Skills Intern will assist ASCDU in the operation of the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program along with additional office duties as assigned. This will include assisting in coordinating the meetings and activities of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC); Career Development Programs; Community Service Projects; Personal Development Programs; and duties as assigned as a part of the overall CHAMPS/ Life Skills program. The CHAMPS/Life Skills Intern will report directly to the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Experience working with student-athletes. Must have a working knowledge of NCAA academic rules and procedures. Strong oral and written communication skills are needed. Must be computer literate. Candidate must be able to work non-traditional hours if necessary, approximately 20-30 hours per week.

This is a 12 month full-time position starting July 1, 2008. Compensation is $10.00/hour maximum 39 hours/week.
