Maryland Athletics Announces Football Broadcasting Lineup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland Athletics announced its football broadcasting lineup for 2008-09, including the Ralph Friedgen Radio Show, the Ralph Friedgen Television Show (FridgeTV) and the expansion of the Terrapin Sports Radio Network.

With the addition of four new affiliates, the Terrapin Sports Radio Network now boasts one of the strongest coverage areas in collegiate sports by providing exposure throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, as well as reaching into West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Terrapin Sports Marketing, a division of CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, manages the Terrapin Sports Network on behalf of the department of athletics. Fans can access Terps broadcasts through Maryland All-Access at www.umterps.com.

Fans can tune in 90 minutes before kickoff and listen to the Pregame Show with Gary Stein, Scott McBrien and Steve Melewski.

The 2008-09 edition of the Ralph Friedgen Radio Show will air Wednesdays from 8-9 p.m. on much of the Terrapin Sports Radio Network.

Friedgen and Voice of the Terrapins Johnny Holliday will be on the air taking phone calls from fans starting this Wednesday, previewing the Terps' season-opening game against Delaware. Terp fans can call into the show by dialing 1-888-372-9535 or may submit a question on-line at www.umterps.com.

The show airs before a live audience at Outback Steakhouse in Aspen Hill.

Fans who can't make the show can listen on one of the following stations: WHFS 105.7 FM - Baltimore (Flagship); ESPN Radio 1300 AM (WJFK) - Baltimore (Flagship); WJFK 106.7 FM - Washington D.C.; WTBO AM 1450 - Cumberland; WFMD AM 930 - Frederick; WARK AM 1490 - Hagerstown; WMSG AM 1050 - Oakland; WQMR FM 101.1 - Ocean City. On Wednesday, as well as Sept. 10, 17 and 24, the Ralph Friedgen Radio Show will be heard on WQSR 101.7 FM in Baltimore instead of WHFS.

The Outback Steakhouse Ralph Friedgen Television Show - FridgeTV - will have its season premiere at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 on Comcast SportsNet.

The fast-paced, 30-minute show, which is presented by Outback Steakhouse, goes behind the scenes with Friedgen and the Maryland football team.

The show airs each Saturday throughout the football season with replays scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday on Comcast SportsNet, just prior to the rebroadcast of the Terps most recent football game.

Comcast SportsNet will carry the official rebroadcasts of all 12 University of Maryland football matchups, including the game at Middle Tennessee State which will also air live on the network (Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.). Comcast SportsNet will re-air each Saturday's game in its entirety throughout the remainder of the season. Terrapins Playback, featuring the previous day's University of Maryland game, will air each Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Comcast SportsNet kicks off coverage Saturday, Aug. 30, with a Terrapins Rising marathon (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The network will also feature Terrapin Playback: Delaware at Maryland on Monday, Sept. 1, in its entirety at 7 p.m.

ACC home games are selected on a 12-day option by ESPN/ABC or Raycom. Four times during the season, ESPN/ABC can choose certain ACC games on a six-day window. For official notification of the game time, please call 301-314-TIME.
