DURHAM, N.C. -
Maryland trails Duke 10-6 at halftime, led by two field goals by Nick Ferrara and two takeaways by the Maryland defense.
Playing in heavy rain, the Terps have moved the ball effectively before having drives stall. Ferrara made field goals of 25 and 40 yards, and quarterback Chris Turner is 9-of-12 for 88 yards.
Linebacker Alex Wujciak forced the first Duke turnover, as the Blue Devils were driving into Maryland territory. Wujciak forced a fumble that Jamari McCollough recovered at the Maryland 29. Maryland's next takeaway setup Ferrara's second field goal. Defensive back Cameron Chism came up with his third interception of the season, and the Terps took over at the Duke 31 yard line.
The Blue Devils entered the game ranked fourth in the ACC in scoring with an average of 31.8 points per game. Quarterback Thaddeus Lewis led Duke on a 69-yard touchdown drive to open the scoring, and kicker Will Snyderwine added a 35-yard field goal with 4:56 to play in the half to give the Blue Devils the 10-6 advantage going into the half.
