Volleyball to Play Host to Clemson, Georgia Tech

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland volleyball team is home at Comcast Pavilion this weekend for a pair of matches against two of the top teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Clemson and Georgia Tech.

The Terrapins (11-15, 3-10 ACC) will play host to the Clemson Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visit at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Maryland is led by senior middle blocker Katie Usher. Usher leads the Terps and ranks eighth in the ACC in hitting percentage at .339 and currently ranks 10th on the school's all time hitting percentage and points lists.

Freshman Sam Rosario has produced a solid first season with the program, leading the ACC in service aces with 42, while recording an average of 4.00 digs per set to place sixth in the league.

Clemson has won three straight conference matches and seven of its last nine to improve to 18-7 and 8-5 in the ACC to move into fourth place in the conference standings. The Tigers have defeated the Terps seven straight times to take a 31-27 lead in the all-time series.

Georgia Tech also comes into the weekend playing well. The Yellow Jackets have won four of their last five contests and currently sit in third place in the ACC at 16-7 and 10-3 in the ACC. Maryland has lost five of its last six matchups against Georgia Tech, but still owns a slim lead in the all-time series, 25-24.
