COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland head volleyball coach Tim Horsmon has announced the Terrapins' spring competition schedule and action is set to begin this weekend as the Terps take the first steps toward shaping the 2009 team.

Maryland is scheduled to play in four tournaments, beginning Saturday at the GLC Collegiate Invitational in Chicago. The Terps will be back in the area the following Saturday for Georgetown's spring tournament. After a two-week break, the Terps will play host to the Maryland Spring Invite. The spring season concludes April 25 at the Cincinnati Spring Tournament.

With the loss of five seniors from last year's team, the spring schedule should provide crucial experience for next year's sophomore and junior classes, which should take on increased roles next season.
