
Holmes Earns NGCA Academic Honor

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - University of Maryland rising sophomore Alexis Holmes was selected recently to the National Golf Coaches Association All-Amercia Scholar Team for 2009.
Holmes, a product of West Chester, Pa., cracked the starting lineup for the Terrapins in her freshman season. She played in eight of Maryland's 10 events and finished with an 80.74 scoring average. She is majoring in English at Maryland.
The NGCA All-America Scholar Team is for student-atheltes with a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and who played in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds during the season.
