DALLAS - Maryland junior linebacker Alex Wujciak found his name on another preseason awards list.
The junior linebacker was named to the watch list for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, which honors the top defensive player in the country.
Wujciak was one of 62 players on the list, which was announced Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
Wujciak was placed on the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award (top defensive player in nation) last week.
The native of West Caldwell, N.J., was also a second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection last season after posting 133 tackles, including double-digit stops in eight games. He ranked 13th nationally in tackles (10.2 per game) and is fifth among returning players.
Other Terps in the running for national awards include Da'Rel Scott (Doak Walker Award - top running back) and Travis Baltz (Ray Guy Award - top punter).
The Bronko Nagurski Watch List is fluid, with players being added or removed during the season. The trophy has been presented since 1993 and is awarded in memory of the legendary Nagurski, an All-America lineman at Minnesota in 1927-29 and a star for the Chicago Bears in the 1930s.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Nov. 18 or 19. The annual Bronko Nagurski Trophy Banquet will be on Dec. 7 at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
