COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team will host the first-ever alumni scrimmage Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Comcast Center Pavilion. This will mark the team's first appearance on the floor, outside of the practice gym, since last season.

The team will square off against Maryland volleyball alumni players, such as recent Terp graduate Mary Beth Brown and Veronica Vogel, who was an All-ACC selection for the Terps in 1983.

The Terrapins look forward to welcoming back all of the returning alumni and look to make this event annual.

They are heading into the 2009 season under second-year head coach Tim Horsmon. Maryland will welcome Stony Brook, Youngstown State and Villanova to College Park next weekend to open the season with the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills Maryland Invitational.
