Tim Horsmon, the 2007 AVCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year, has led his teams to eight NCAA Tournaments and eight conference championships in his nine seasons as a head coach. The Maryland-native and 1998 Washington Post Coach of the Year has returned to lead his hometown Terps to even greater heights. |

Maryland volleyball players are true STUDENT-athletes. Three Terps, Brittney Grove, Bethany Springer and Sharon Strizak, earned spots on the 2008 ACC All-Academic Team. Three Terps also made the team in 2007 and seven players were selected to the 2007 ACC Honor Roll. Maryland volleyball recorded a terrific team GPA of 3.32 during in-season competition in 2007. |

The Terps have won five ACC titles (1990, 1996, 2003, 2004 & 2005) and have made seven trips to the NCAA tournament. The ACC Tournament was discontinued in 2004 and the Terps closed out the event with the title, sweeping North Carolina. |

Combining the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas, Maryland plays in the nation's fourth-largest media market. In addition to national newspapers like the Washington Post and Baltimore Sun, the Terps are also covered regularly by one of the country's top student newspapers, The Diamondback. Maryland volleyball has also been featured in several national publications, including USA Today and on ESPN.com. |

Setter Eden Kroeger was an All-American and the ACC Player of the Year in 1997, while 2000 graduate Beth Murphy was honored by the ACC with the presitigious Weaver-James-Corrigan Award. In total, Maryland has had six AVCA All-Americans and three ACC Players of the Year. |
