2010 Camp Informational Brochure
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Two new camps have been added to the schedule of Maryland Volleyball Camps. Now available General (Grades 5-12) and Elite (Grades 9-12) Skills Camps for girls.
Campers will learn from the best and receive instruction and coaching from the Terrapins volleyball staff.
Tim Horsmon became only the third coach in Maryland volleyball history in February 2008, coming to College Park, Md., after five extremely successful seasons at the University of Dayton. Horsmon's collegiate career ranks among the greatest starts in NCAA history. In 11 years as a Division I head coach, his teams have earned eight trips to the NCAA Tournament, eight conference championships (including a 17-1 record in conference tournament play), and a tremendous 243-138 overall record. His teams have amassed an amazing 101-42 record in conference regular-season matches combined at Robert Morris, Dayton and Maryland.

Setter Camp
July 19, 2010
Boys and Girls, grades 5-12

Camp fee: 125*; Deposit: A $50.00 deposit is required if paying by check.
This one-day camp will be skill-specific. The campers will get a comprehensive overview of the targeted skill. Camp will consist of basic training, reps and advanced techniques and ideas associated with each skill. This is perfect for those campers that really want to understand every aspect about a specific skill.
Passer-Server Camp

Camp fee: 125*; Deposit: A $50 deposit is required if paying by check.

Hitter Camp

All Skills Camp
July 12-14, 2010
Boys and Girls, grads 5-12
Camp fee: 325*; Deposit: A deposit of $150 is required if paying by check.
This camp is designed to assist players in developing their full potential in their chosen specialized positions. The majority of daily practice is spent on improving basic skills and developing advanced techniques. All of the basic skills (passing, attacking, blocking, individual defense, etc.) are covered. Every player at camp will have the chance to learn every skill, making the all-skills camp one of the best experiences for beginning and younger players.
Team Camp
July 15-18, 2010
Girls, grades 9-12
Camp fee: $325* (overnight)/$250* (commuter); Deposit: A deposit of $150 for overnight campers and $75 for commuter campers is required if paying by check.
This team camp is designed to be the perfect combination of skills and work competition. This balance is key to a program's success.

General Skills Camp
July 22-25, 2010

The GENERAL skills camp is geared toward the beginner to intermediate level athlete. It's for players looking to improve their overall skills. This camp is perfect for any skill level and focuses on teaching and polishing the campers overall skills.
Elite Skills Camp
July 22-25, 2010
Girls, grades 9-12
Camp fee: 440* (overnight)/$340* (commuter); Deposit: A deposit of $150 for either is required for is required if paying by check.
The ELITE skills camp is geared toward the more experienced player. While it is open to any and all entrants, ELITE skills participants are strongly encouraged to have high school varsity or club experience. This camp will offer the opportunity to find out more about being a collegiate volleyball player, with sessions on strength and conditioning, the college recruiting experience and Q&A's with current Maryland players. A great opportunity to train like a Terp!

Additional Information
Tuition and Payment
Register Online - Credit care and e-check payment is available at www.umterps.com by clicking on the VOLLEYBALL page. Confirmation will be sent through thrive.com. Online registration will be available up to two weeks before the beginning of each camp's start date.
Mail-In Payment - Personal checks will be accepted as a form of payment. Please make checks payable to "University of Maryland Volleyball Camp." Do NOT staple checks to registration form. Remember, all camps require a deposit when paying by check.

No deposit will be refunded for any reason.
Housing/Meals
All residential campers and camp staff will be housed in campus dormitories located on North Campus. Roommates will be assigned at random unless requested in advance. Please make any roommate requests on the application. Twenty-four hour supervision of the dorms will be provided by the camp staff. All meals are provided at The Diner on North Campus, conveniently located near the dorms and Comcast Center.
Medical Information
A full-time trainer will be on duty to administer to minor injuries and ailments. A medical release form is required and must be completed prior to camp. This form is available online in the volleyball section of the University of Maryland athletic department's official website: www.umterps.com.
Equipment
Each camper should bring T-shirts, knee pads and gym shoes. Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. We will have additional coolers available for the campers. The residential camper will be sent a checklist of additional equipment needs for the overnight camp.
