GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Katie O'Donnell of the second-ranked Maryland field hockey team was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Player of the Week Monday for her four goal, two assist performance in the Terps' (16-1, 5-0 ACC) two wins over top ten teams.

O'Donnell's 10 points helped lead the Terrapins to their second straight 5-0 ACC regular season record and No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament. She had a hand in each of the Terps' six goals over the week.

Maryland opened the week against No. 7 American Wednesday. O'Donnell scored the Terrapins' first and third goals to claim the game. She assisted to junior Jemma Buckley on the second off of a penalty corner setup.

No. 1 North Carolina came to College Park Saturday as the nation's only remaining undefeated team. O'Donnell scored twice in the game's first 12 minutes to give Maryland a 2-0 lead heading into half. The Tar Heels tied the game in the second half, but O'Donnell drew a penalty corner with just over three minutes remaining in the game. She assisted on the corner setup as Buckley scored the game-winner with 2:27 remaining.

O'Donnell was honored as the league's top player twice already this year. A Terrapin has earned the honor five of the nine weeks this season.

The Terrapins will honor their three seniors, Alicia Morawski, Amanda Himmelheber and O'Donnell, before next Saturday's game against No. 10 Louisville. The Terps and the Cardinals will take the field at noon in College Park.

Due to a home football game, fans will be charged $15 to park and are asked to park in lot 4i, the lot directly next to the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free for all fans planning to attend.
