Junior Jessica Hollandsworth fired off a 73 to lead Maryland to fourth place after Day One at the 33rd Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational Sunday at the Pelican Preserve Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla.
After being named to the Lady Pirate Invitational All-Tournament team, Hollandsworth finished the day in a four-player tie for 10th place individually. Trailing Hollandsworth by one stroke, sophomore Christine Shimel is tied for 14th at 74. Sophomore Hayley Brown hit a 76 to end Sunday tied for 25th. Seniors Kerri Connolly and Hilary Lawson round out the Terrapin women's golf team with scores of 77 and 79, respectively.
As a team, Maryland shot 300 overall and are nine strokes back of first-place Western Michigan. Daytona State holds second-place with a first-round 293 and North Texas rounds out the top-three at 294.
Daytona State's Mitsuki Katahira and Western Michigan's Britney Hamilton are tied for first-place with a 3-under-par 69, individually, and Cincinnat's Olivia Dose finished Sunday at 70.
Play will resume Monday with a shotgun start, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
