
Women's golf heads to Lady Pirate Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's golf team will compete in the Lady Pirate Invitational, hosted by East Carolina University, on Monday.
Through three fall season invitationals, the Terps have two top-half finishes, including a No. 3 finish at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic.
Last week, at the William K. Warren Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, senior Kerri Connolly led the Terps with a second-round 75 to finish tied for 21st overall.
Returning from last year's squad are All-ACC selections sophomore Christine Shimel and junior Jessica Hollandsworth. In 2009, Hollandsworth earned two top-20 finished and a top-10 placing in the spring.
Hayley Brown, Kerri Connolly, Alexis Holmes, Hilary Lawson and Lauren Varnas also return for Maryland and head coach Jason Rodenhaver. Walk-on Lauren Smith is the only addition to the team, which will play in one final tournament, the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational, before closing out the fall season
