Grove, Springer Selected to ESPN Academic All-District Second Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland seniors Brittney Grove and Bethany Springer were selected as ESPN The Magazine Second-Team Academic All-District performers in the District 2 University Division, announced on Thursday.

Playing right side for the Terps, Brittney Grove currently leads the team with 90 total blocks. A marketing and communication double major, the Glen Allen, Va. native holds a 3.79 GPA and earned ACC All-Academic team honors as a junior in 2009.

Maryland's starting libero, Bethany Springer leads the Terps with 401 digs on the season and ranks seventh in school history with 1,089 over her four-year career. A mechanical engineering major, Springer holds a team-high 3.84 GPA and earned ACC All-Academic honors as sophomore.

All-District selections are nominated and voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
