COLLEGE PARK, MD. -
Junior forward Jasmyne Spencer headlines a group of three Maryland women's soccer players that earned All-Southeast Region honors from the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Spencer earned first team honors, while senior wide back Caitlin McDowell earned second team recognition. The trio is rounded out by sophomore midfielder Domenica Hodak, who was a third team selection. "We had an outstanding season, and it's nice to see these three individuals receive recognition - they are all very deserving," said Maryland head coach Brian Pensky. "And I know that these three would be quick to say that we have plenty of others who have earned the right to be recognized as well, as we are that talented." |

Spencer, a Bay Shore, N.Y., native, repeats as a first team all-region selection after another spectacular season for the Terps with 25 points on 10 goals and five assists, which are the exact same numbers she posted last season. Earlier this season, she became the first Terp field player to be named to the All-ACC first team in back-to-back seasons since Erin Taylor was selected in 1995 and 1996. She had four game-winning goals for the Terps, who finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the nation, according to Soccer America, and earned the program's first-ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Spencer currently ranks among the Top 25 in career points (9th, 50), goals (8th, 20), assists (23rd, 10), shots (8th, 150) and game-winning goals (4th, 8). |

McDowell, a native of Plano, Texas, earns her first all-region selection following tremendous senior season that saw her lead the team with 12 assists, which tied her for second on the all-time single-season list. McDowell finished her career tied for third all-time in career assists with 24 and was also among the Top 25 in career points (20th, 36), shots (22nd, 100) and games played (17th, 81). McDowell also received recognition for her work in the classroon and was the first-ever Terrapin women's soccer player to earn ESPN Academic All-America honors. A two-time first team Academic All-District selection, she earned second team ESPN Academic All-America honors earlier this year with a 3.93 GPA in marketing. |

Hodak, a native of West Sayville, N.Y., was arguably the Terps' most consistent performer in 2010 and anchored a Maryland defense that posted seven shutouts, held opponents to 0.87 goals per game and limited its opposition to less than 10 shots per game. She started all 22 games she played for the Terps and chipped in on the offensive end of the field with two assists. |
