Assistant Coach, Women's Volleyball
UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is among the most comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and near Columbia, Maryland, which was recently listed as the #2 “Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine. The Athletic Program has won 21 national championships over the last 16 years and is a charter member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Currently, 78 of the University's academic programs are in their respective Top 25 nationally.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Head Coach for Women's Volleyball with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, Division I intercollegiate program. Specific duties include: coordinating recruitment of upper level, Division I student-athletes, and coaching; assisting in scheduling practices and matches; arranging team travel; administration of team budgets; and other responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes are essential requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of two years coaching experience required, preferably at the Division I collegiate level. Strong communication, organizational, administrative and computer skills.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
