
Maryland Heads to Princeton This Weekend

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland water polo team is traveling to Princeton University this weekend to participate in this year's ECAC Championship.
The Terps (5-2) hold the first seed and will face eighth-seeded Bucknell (3-1) in the first round of this two-day, eight-team tournament. The game is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at DeNunzio Pool.
The winner of that game will face the victor of fourth-seeded Princeton and fifth-seeded Iona University at 7 p.m. Saturday. The losers of those contests will play at 4 p.m.
The Terps are led by senior Shannon Simerly, who has team highs in goals (15) and points (20). Ally Beck ranks second on the team in goals (8) and Elina Goldenberg is second in points (13).
Shelby Reyes is one of three goaltenders to see action this season. Reyes has started five of the seven games.
Marist comes in as the No. 2 seed and Brown is third. Wagner and Harvard round out the tournament field.
All eight squads will play one game on Sunday.
