Final Stats

Charlottesville, Va. - The Maryland women's tennis team fell Sunday afternoon to No. 25 Virginia 7-0.

The Terps (2-5, 0-3 ACC) went on the road for the first time this season, matching up against a tough conference opponent in the Cavaliers (7-2, 2-0 ACC). Virginia swept the doubles point to get off to a strong start. However, the Maryland duo of Lexi Brand and Jordan Hansbrough put up a fight against Virginia's Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra, who are ranked No. 53 in the nation, losing 9-7. It was only the second loss of the season in doubles for Brand and Hansbrough.

Maggie MacKeever saw action at No. 1 singles for the first time this season coming off her hard-fought win against Virginia Tech's Martha Blakely Friday. MacKeever fell to No. 38 Hardenbergh 6-2, 6-3.

Oksana Krutiyenko, playing in just her second singles match this season, took the Cavalier's Katie Gater to a third set before falling 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 ending the meet.

Maryland will play host to Columbia Saturday at 11 a.m. before starting a four game road trip later in March.
