Stein Earns CWPA Southern Division Honors

BRIDEGEPORT, Pa. - Goalie Rachel Stein was named the CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Stein played the second half of all three games at last weekend's ECAC Championship, helping the Terps go 2-1. The freshman posted a career-high six blocks and allowed just two goals in Sunday's come-from-behind 7-6 win over Marist.

The Ottawa, Ontario, product also had four blocks in Saturday's first-round victory over Bucknell and five in a 10-5 semifinal loss to Princeton.

Stein won the rookie award for the third week this season, the most among any player in the CWPA's divisions (Southern, Western, Northern, Division III).
