
Maryland Heads to Division Championship

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Postseason for the Maryland water polo team gets underway this weekend.
The Terrapins (13-16, 2-4) are scheduled to face Princeton (17-8, 5-1) in the semifinals of the CWPA Southern Division Championship on Saturday.
The third-seeded Terps and second-seeded Tigers will play at 5:30 p.m. at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
The winner of that game will play for the division championship at 1 p.m. Sunday against either top-seeded Bucknell (13-9, 5-1) or fourth-seeded George Washington (7-15, 0-6). The Bison and Colonials meet at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Terps hope to get their offense in gear this weekend behind the tandem of senior Shannon Simerly and freshman Allison Campbell.
Simerly and Campbell have each posted a team-best 37 goals. Meghan Powers (29 goals) and Ally Beck (26 goals) have also been key contributors offensively.
Shelby Reyes and Rachel Stein have split time in net.
The winner of the four-team Southern Division Championship receives an automatic bid to the CWPA Eastern Championship which will be held April 30-May 2 in College Park, Md.
