COLLEGE PARK, Md. - NOTE: The games for Tuesday and Wednesday were originally posted as 2 p.m. games. Tuesday's is at 6 p.m. and Wednesday's is at 4:30 p.m. We apologize for any confusion.
Three Terrapin field hockey alums - Katie O'Donnell, Keli Smith and Lauren Powley - will be in Washington D.C. next week for a week-long series with Team USA. The Americans will face off against the team from Argentina for five games at American University for the Clash at the Capital.
Maryland head coach Missy Meharg said, "This is certainly exciting to have Argentina and Team USA play right here in D.C. This passionate hockey rivalry has become one of World's Hockey's greatest continental matchups. On behalf of the University of Maryland we wish team USA all the best."
Smith returns to the team after an absence for the birth of her son, Xavi in January. A two-time Olympian and World Cup team member, Smith will serve as the team's vice captain in the series.
"I'm looking forward to this series," Smith said. "It's been a little over a year since I last played in a test series. It will just be fun to get back out there on the field."
"What a testament of her love of the game and competition to see Keli Smith back in red, white and blue," Meharg said.
Admission to all five games is free and the team will be available for autographs after games on Saturday and Sunday.
