UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is among the most comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and near Columbia, Maryland, which was recently listed as the #4 "Best Place to Live" by Money Magazine. The Athletic Program has won 18 national championships over the last 15 years and is a charter member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Currently, 92 of the University's academic programs are in their respective Top 25 nationally.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, Division I men's intercollegiate basketball program. Specific duties include scouting, on-court instruction, film exchange, game preparation, general correspondence and other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC, University and Athletic Department rules and regulations, including dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes, are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Must have at least three successful years of collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level. Excellent organizational skills and some computer knowledge necessary. Ability to recruit to Maryland upper level Division I caliber student-athletes who also possess excellent character.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
