Meet Schedule
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland Twilight track and field meet this Thursday will mark the final home event for 17 Terrapin seniors. In addition to a pre-meet reception to honor the late Jim Kehoe, the Maryland track and field program will pay a brief tribute to those seniors who have been the leaders in the program during the 2009-10 seasons.
A brief note on the members of the Maryland Track Class of 2010 follows:
Mike Cator (Middle Distance, Hawthorne, N.J.)
Among Terps' top marks outdoors this year in 800 (1:56.37) and 1,500 (3:56.43).
Maryland's 4th finisher at 2009 ACC Cross Country Championships.
Terps 5th scorer at 2009 NCAA Cross Country Regionals.
Transfer from Marist University
Ben Diestel (Distance, Allendale, N.J.)
Has Terps' second-best 1,500 this season outdoors with 3:54.87 at ACCs.
Member of 4x800 relay team that set school record at Colonial Relays (7:33.37).
Also has 1:55.08 best outdoors in 800.
Finished 2nd or 3rd for Terps throughout season in cross country.
Ranks 8th all-time at Maryland indoors in 5,000 (15:05.20).
Tommy Friscia (Middle Distance, Union Beach, N.J.)
Has Terps' best mark of season in 800 with 1:50.50.
Ran anchor leg on Terps' school-record 4x800 relay at Colonial Relays.
Member of school-record DMR team that went 9:43.92 at Alex Wilson Invitational.
Ranks 3rd on Maryland's all-time list indoors in 800 (1:51.73 at Alex Wilson Inv.)
Finished 7th in 800 at ACC Indoor this season.
Kevin Gahr (Distance, Northfield, N.J.)
Terps' third finisher at NCAA Cross Country Regional this season.
Ran both 3,000 and 5,000 for Terps this season indoors.
Legonn Haskins (Hurdles, New Carrollton, Md.)
Terps' best mark of the season in 110 hurdles (14.47).
Won the 110 hurdles at Maryland Invitational.
Season-best indoors at 60 hurdles came at ACC Indoor.
Holds 7th-best mark all-time at Maryland indoors at 60 hurdles (8.16).
Transfer from Butler Community College.
Jeremy Samuels (Sprints, Upper Marlboro, Md.)
Terps' best time indoors and outdoors at 400 meters.
Ranks 10th all-time outdoors and 4th all-time indoors at 400 meters.
Also ranks 4th all-time indoors at 200 meters.
Member of school-record relay teams indoors in 4x400 and DMR.
Alexis Booker (Sprints, Temple Hills, Md.)
Has Terps' second-best time of season outdoors at 100 meters (12.18).
Member of Maryland 4x100 relay that placed 8th at ACC Outdoor.
On Maryland top-10 lists indoors at 55 meters (T9th) and 60 meters (T8th).
Transfer from Univ. of Florida
Ashley Carbray (Jumps, Bloomfield, Conn.)
On Maryland's top-10 list indoors in triple jump (37-7.25).
Has Terps' top mark in the triple jump outdoors this season (37-11.25).
Natalie Goodman (Sprints, Frederick, Md.)
Solid performer for Terps throughout her four-year career.
Member of 400-meter crew for four seasons.
Season-best 57.83 indoors came at Virginia Tech Elite meet.
Went 58.69 at ACC Outdoor Championships.
Tiffani Long (Jumps, Columbia, Md.)
Won the long jump competition at the Tribe Invitational with season-best 18-2.50.
Competed at ACC Championships outdoors this season.
Season-best indoor mark of 18-4.50 came in long jump competition at N.Y. Armory meet, where she had a top-10 finish.
Erin Matyus (Middle Distance, Bethlehem, Pa.)
On Maryland top-10 list indoors at 1,000 meters (8th, 2:56.90).
Fourth Terrapin across the line at 2009 ACC Cross Country Championships.
Member of 4x800 relay team that set school record at Penn Relays in 2008.
Melony McKay (Sprints, Spanish Town, Jamaica)
Ranks 10th all-time at Maryland both indoors (56.82) and outdoors (55.74) at 400 meters.
Had Terps' second-fastest time of season in 400 both indoors and outdoors.
Ranks 6th all-time on Maryland's 400 hurdles list (1:01.42).
Transferred from Essex Community College.
Christina Nelson (Distance, Little Silver, N.J.)
Winner of ACC Postgraduate Scholarship.
Member of DMR team that set school record at Penn Relays in April.
Ranked on all-time lists indoors in four events - 800, 1000, 1500 and 3000.
Member of three all-time lists outdoors at Maryland - 800, 1500, 3000.
Had Terps' best marks of season in 1,500 and 3,000 outdoors, and 3,000 indoors.
Tolulope Olugbemi (Sprints, Baltimore, Md.)
Consistent performer for four seasons for Terps at 400 meters.
Had season-bests of 57.03 outdoors and 57.08 indoors.
Won the Terrapin Indoor Invitational at 400 meters.
Member of 4x400 relay squad that hit top-10 all-time list at Colonial Relays.
Kelley Pry (Middle Distance, Flower Mound, Texas)
Outstanding 800-meter runner for Terrapins through career.
Fourth indoors (2:11.53) and 5th outdoors (2:10.09) on Terps' all-time lists in 800.
Member of 4x800 relay team that set school record at Penn Relays in 2008.
Kristin Reed (Distance, Pennsburg, Pa.)
Maryland's top performer during 2009 cross country season.
Had two individual victories in 2009 - UMES Lid-Lifter and Great American Festival.
Terps' top runner in each of the five events she ran.
Andrea Rothschild (Distance, Demarest, N.J.)
Starter on Terps' cross country squad for last few seasons.
Consistent performer in distance events in track & field.
Went 37:17.17 at Colonial Relays to post 8th-best time ever for Terps in 10,000.
