"Ali adores the indoor game. Given her experience with the Indoor National team she is a vital selection for the qualification. We are very proud of her and will watch from afar," Maryland head coach Missy Meharg said.
McEvoy and freshman Jill Witmer were both named to the US Under-21 team as well.
"Great to see young promising Terps having the opportunity to play for the USA at the U-21 level. Jill is such a dynamic, high speed forward and Ali a field general in defense. Competing and traveling internationally is such an honor. Maryland athletics is very proud that both Jill and Ali have been named to the USA U-21 team for 2010-11," Meharg said.
