DIRECTOR OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
The University of Maryland, College Park invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Nationally recognized for its athletics programs, the University boasts 27 men's and women's athletics teams that compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference and nationally. They have won 20 national championships over the last 16 years. The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics reports to the President and is a member of the President's Cabinet. The Director is responsible for leading and managing the strategic direction and operations of intercollegiate athletics, spanning programming, student-athlete achievement, standards, personnel, budget and facilities. The Director represents athletics with local, regional and national constituencies and is responsible for a major fund-raising program. The Director directs the complex organization of the Department on this talented, diverse, and highly competitive campus. The Director must relate very well with the University community, including faculty, staff, and students, as well as with the general public and the media.
Highest personal integrity and professional standards, knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all University, ACC, and NCAA regulations, and dedication to full academic development of all student-athletes are essential for the Director.
Candidates should have earned a bachelor's degree or higher and have a demonstrable record of successful leadership, supervision and management of an athletic enterprise. Preferred candidates should also have a proven and successful record of fundraising.

Nominations and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
