
Terps Announce Roster Additions

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's water polo team will welcome nine new faces for the 2011 season.
The new additions for head coach Carl Salyer include: Caitlin Barr of Northbrook, Ill., Katie Ermakova of Columbia, Md., Sarah Lowes of Newcastle, Wash., Maddie Murphy of Coronado, Calif., Shelby Nickel of San Clemente, Calif., Maeve O'Connor of Chicago, Ill., Taylor Reeves of Orlando, Fla., Molly Ruth of West Lawn, Pa., and Nicole Tobin of Winter Park, Fla.
Ermakova and Murphy signed national letters of intent in November and Ruth inked in the spring.
The Terps return eight of their top nine point producers and top two goalkeepers from last season, having lost just Shannon Simerly to graduation.

Maddie Murphy (Coronado, Calif.; Coronado High School)
MVP of the 2010 America's Finest City Invitational ... 2009 coaches award winner ... Earned varsity letters in both swimming and water polo
Maeve O'Connor (Chicago, Ill.; Loyola Academy; North Shore Water Polo)
Member of 2009 high school team which finished fourth in the state of Illinois... All-time career scoring leader at Loyola Academy... 2009-10 All-American... 2010 Academic All-American... Named to the all-state, all-sectional, and all-conference teams three times... Member of the National Honor Society.
Taylor Reeves (Orlando, Fla.; William R. Boone High School; Central Florida Suns)
Named Boone High School Female Athlete of the Year 2009-10... Two time All Central Florida water polo first team 2008-09 and 2009-10... Two time first team all district 2008-09 and 2009-10NISCA third team All-American... Member of the National Honor Society.
Molly Ruth (West Lawn, Pa.; Wilson High School)
Two time first team all state... Second team All-American... Member of the Pennsylvania water polo state runners up... Member of the National Honor Society... President of the National Junior Honors Society.
Nicole Tobin (Winter Park, Fla.; Winter Park High School; Central Florida Sun)
All-American... Two time Central Florida player of the year... Academic All-American...2007 team rookie of the year... Named three time all metro and district... Captain and MVP of the Central Florida Sun... Member of the 2008 and 2010 Florida state water polo runners up... Member of the National Honor Society.
