Postgame notes following Maryland's 42-28 win over FIU.
Quick hits: Maryland remains undefeated against FIU, improving to 3-0 all-time against the Golden Panthers...The Terps have won nine of their last 11 non-conference home games...Maryland moves to 3-1 for the first time since 2008 and has won at least three of its first four games six times (also 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2010) under

Freshman Under Center: Danny O'Brien earned his first career start on Saturday. O'Brien is the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Terps since Latrez Harrison on Nov. 20, 1999. O'Brien is just the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Terps.
85 for #85: Junior Tony Logan's 85-yard punt return for a touchdown with 11:45 remaining in the second quarter was the first punt returned for a TD since Steve Suter's 76-yard return against West Virginia in the Gator Bowl in 2004.
Nice Drive: Danny O'Brien's first scoring drive as a starting quarterback was as efficient as they come. The freshman capped the 62-yard scoring drive with a nine-yard touchdown pass to LaQuan Williams. The drive took only one minute to complete.
Logan climbing the charts: With 135 yards Saturday, punt returner Tony Logan is now seventh all-time in career punt return yards at Maryland with 476. He is second in average on the Terps' career list, posting 14.0 yards per return.
Two big-time runs: Maryland ran for two touchdowns of over 50 yards each in Saturday's game against FIU. It is the first time the Terps have accomplished this feat since 2001, when Bruce Perry logged TD runs of 80 and 50 yards against Wake Forest.
Holding on to the football: Maryland, which came into Saturday's game ranked 16th in the nation in turnover margin, did not commit a turnover against the Golden Panthers. The Terps have given up zero points on turnovers this season and, in contrast, have scored 31 points on opponent's turnovers in 2010. Maryland is +6 in turnover margin on the season.
4,000 and counting: With 193 all-purpose yards on the day, Torrey Smith now ranks second all-time in career all-purpose yardage (4,127). Smith is only the second player in school history to reach the 4,000-yard plateau. Lamont Jordan (1997-00) has a school-record 4,960 all-purpose yards. Smith also jumped two spots on Maryland's career reception list, tying Marcus Badgett (1989-1992) and Frank Russell (1972-74) at No. 10 with 100.
What's the rush?: Da'Rel Scott's 56-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter was the second-longest in his career. His longest rushing TD came in 2008 on a 63-yard run against Middle Tennessee State. Scott's two-touchdown performance Saturday was the third of his career.
Scott rushing up the charts: Da'Rel Scott hopped three spots on Maryland's career rushing yards list and is now 11th all-time with 1,902. He has also tallied seven 100-yard rushing performances in his career, tying Louis Carter (1972-1974) for fourth-most in Maryland annals.
Meggett breaks free: Junior Davin Meggett's 76-yard rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter was the longest rushing TD since Bruce Perry's 80-yard run against Wake Forest in 2001.
Tidbits: Maryland is 3-0 when leading at halftime this season...Freshman Danny O'Brien boasted career-highs in completions (18), attempts (27) and yards (250)...Sophomore A.J. Francis' 11 tackles is also a career-high...
