MCLEAN, Va. - Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF) announced Thursday the official fall standings for the Capital One Cup, a new program rewarding NCAA Division I athletics programs for their cumulative on-field performance across multiple men's and women's sports.

The University of Maryland is currently ranked No. 24 in the Capital One Cup men's standings as a result of its finish in the final coaches' poll in soccer.

Maryland is also tied for eighth in the women's standings as a result of its finish in the final coaches' poll in field hockey (20 points) and soccer (2 points).

With strong performances in the winter and spring seasons, the Terps have a chance to be crowned the Capital One Cup men's or women's winner and be awarded a trophy and $200,000 scholarship for postgraduate education in July at the ESPYs.
