TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 41-16 loss at Florida State.

Kicking Off: Maryland fell to 2-5 and 1-3 in the ACC with the 41-16 loss ... the Terps have dropped five straight in the series and are now 0-11 in Tallahassee all time.

Starting Lineups: The Terps started their seventh different defensive combination of the season, including four freshmen. A.J. Francis made his first start since the West Virginia game and Darin Drakeford was back in the starting lineup after missing the last three games with an injury. The Terps have started four of more freshmen in each of the last three games. Maryland started four wide receivers and one tight end on offense meaning Davin Meggett did not start at tailback for the first time this season.

Meggett Hits 2K: Senior Davin Meggett moved past 2,000 career rushing yards with his first carry of the day (he entered the day with 1,997). He is just the 11th back in school history to surpass 2,000 yards. Now with 2,041 yards in his career, he can move into the Maryland top 10 with another 99. Willie Joyner currently ranks 10th with 2,140.

Leak Earns First Start: Marcus Leak started the first game of his career and became the first true freshman wideout to start for the Terps in six years. Danny Oquendo started at wide receiver as a true freshman vs. NC State on Nov. 26, 2005. Leak posted eight receptions for 61 receiving yards and had his first TD reception, a 15 yarder in the fourth quarter.

Ferrara Reaches Top 10: With four points today, Nick Ferrara moved into a tie for 10th with Dale Castro (121/1979-80) on the Maryland all-time kick scoring chart.

O'Brien Moves Up Passing Yards Chart: Danny O'Brien, who replaced C.J. Brown in the third quarter, moved to No. 11 on the Maryland career passing yards chart. O'Brien, who threw for 180 yards, passed one of the Terps all-time greats in Dick Shiner (3,410/1961-63). O'Brien has 3,548 career passing yards; next up on the list is Stan Gelbaugh (3,659/1981-85).

Big Day For McCree: Quintin McCree posted career highs in receptions (9) and receiving yards (177) vs. Florida State. McCree came into the game 269 career receiving yards. He had a career-long 69-yard reception (longest of the season by a Terp) in the third quarter which set up a touchdown.

Tidbits: Dexter McDougle took over the team lead in interceptions with his third of the season in the second quarter ... Maryland tied a season-high with four sacks (also vs. Towson, 10/1) ... three of Maryland's top four tacklers were freshmen - Titus Till (8), Lorne Goree (7) and Mario Rowson (5) ... Maryland fell to 10-4 when winning the turnover battle (since start of the 2010 season) ... Nick Ferrara punted a career-high 10 times (34.4 ypp) ... Maryland tied a season-high with seven penalties (also against West Virginia) ... the Terps held the ball for just 2:51 in the fourth quarter ... FSU won the time of possession battle 32:19 to 27:41 ... Maryland was 3 of 3 in the red zone (two TDs, one FG).
