Twine Earns ACC Rookie of Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Alex Twine was honored Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference for his play Saturday.
Twine was voted the ACC Rookie of the Week after posting a career-best 12 tackles in Maryland's 45-21 loss to Notre Dame. In just his third career start, the sure-tackling outside linebacker posted 3.0 tackles for loss, the most by any Terrapin defender this season, and one sack.
The true freshman has played in all 10 games, but has averaged 10.0 tackles in his three starts.
On the season, he has 35 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and one sack, and one recovered fumble.
