Kicking Off: Maryland fell to 2-7 and 1-5 in the ACC while Virginia improved to 6-3 and 3-2 in the ACC ... Maryland leads the all-time series 42-32-2 and 20-13 in College Park ... the road team has now won five of the last six meetings ... Maryland's last win over Virginia in College Park was in 2005 ... the teams had split the last 10 meetings before today's game.

Senior Day: Saturday's game served as the final home appearance for 15 seniors: DB Cameron Chism, LS Tim Downs, WR Webb Dulin, OL Andrew Gonnella, DB Anthony Green, DL Maurice Hampton, RB Desmond Haynes, DB Trenton Hughes, WR/PR Tony Logan, WR Quintin McCree, RB Davin Meggett, DB Daniel Thomas, LB Kenny Tate, WR Ronnie Tyler and DB Austin Walker. Tate, who had season-ending surgery last week, hopes to return next year on a medical redshirt. In addition, LB Shaquan Virgil, a fourth-year junior, took part in the pregame ceremony.

McCree Hits 100 Again: Senior wide receiver Quintin McCree had his second 100-yard receiving day in the last three games, posting seven catches for 117 yards. McCree also had nine catches for 177 yards against Florida State (10/22). He supplanted Kevin Dorsey as the team leader in receiving yards (382) and is tied with Dorsey in receptions (30). McCree, who had 269 receiving yards in his first 31 career games, has 325 in the last three.

So Does Boykins: In addition to McCree's 117 receiving yards, Kerry Boykins had a career-high 101 yards on six catches, including a 35-yarder that was the longest of his career. It was the first time two Maryland players had over 100 yards receiving since Nov. 29, 2008, when Danny Oquendo had 111 and Torrey Smith had 115.

Meggett Moves Up: With 52 yards rushing, senior running back Davin Meggett moved from t-10th on the Maryland career rushing yards list to ninth. Meggett, who now has 2,192 yards in his career, moved past Willie Joyner (2,140, 1980-83) and Alvin Blount (2,158, 1983-86) on the list.

Points Off Turnovers: The Terps forced three Virginia turnovers (one interception, two fumble recoveries) and scored seven points off them. Maryland committed five turnovers (three interceptions, two fumbles) and surrendered seven points off them. Since the beginning of the 2010 season, Maryland has scored 161 points off turnovers (52) while the opposition has been held to 55 points (28).

Defensive Notes: Junior safety Joe Vellano forced a fumble and made 10 tackles ... he had entered the game leading the FBS in tackles by a defensive lineman (7.8 pg) .. Alex Twine set a career high with 10 tackles.

Tidbits: Davin Meggett's 42-yard run in the second quarter was his longest of the season ... junior offensive lineman Justin Gilbert saw his first action of the season ... freshman defensive lineman Ian Evans saw the first snaps of his career ... Nick Ferrara, who entered the game t-2nd in the ACC with 12 punts inside the opponents' 20, had two more today including one inside the 10 ... Devonte Campbell had a 13-yard TD catch in the second quarter ... the junior has two catches this year, both for TDs.
