POSITION TITLE: Facilities Manager
DEPARTMENT: FMGT-Facilities Management
CATEGORY: Full-time, Exempt (109698)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs facilities operations, maintenance, planning and logistical support for all intercollegiate athletics (ICA) facilities. Manages in-house personnel, contractors and consultants. Responsible for FM's compliance with the ICA Memorandum of Understanding regarding the maintenance of ICA facilities. Responsible for working with all providers of facility support (contractors, other university departments, etc.)
Oversees the day-to-day efforts of an in-house workforce who perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks, providing maintenance, repair, and operation of ICA facilities and infrastructure. Manages work performed by all facility service providers in ICA facilities. Validates budget expenditures, ensures work tasks are completed in a timely manner, perform quality control functions through the use of automated management information systems, budgets, logistics billings, and preventive maintenance programs. Represents and responds to ICA staff, coaches, and administration to identify service problems, establish priorities, and to ensure required/requested facility support is provided during all events. Develops, maintains preventive maintenance, and facility renewal programs to ensure facility and systems are maintained in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and industry standards. Services as ICA's point of contact for all aspects of Facilities Management's support of this complex. Ensure facilities meet event and program requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Sports Management, or a related field would be desirable. Six years management experience, with experience in large facility infrastructure management, and mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems skills. Knowledge in sport center/program requirements required. Ten years experience required without a Bachelor's degree. Leadership/supervisory skills required. Ability to use a computer for basic word processing, electronic communication (E-mail) and automated work management information systems. Oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills. Problem solving, independent decision-making skills. Customer service abilities. Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
